Buzzworthy Braids

With so many ways to make it your own, we're loving this staple summer hairstyle! Quick & easy, sassy & chic - it's the perfect way to get your hair off your face on a hot day. Here are two of the hottest styles now:

The Waterfall
This style is a great day-to-night look because you can easily sass it up by curling the ends before heading out. Add a touch of summer by placing a flower or two in the cascading strands for a delicate, girly look. Or, tease your roots before starting and bring the braid into a messy side-bun for a late-night concert. If you already know how to french braid, this waterfall will be a cinch - check out this step-by-step guide from Polyvore and try it out tonight!

The Fishtail
Perfect for a day at the beach, fishtail braids will stay put while catching rays or playing beach volleyball. They've been spotted on countless celebrities from Diane Kruger to Blake Lively. Instead of braiding three pieces of hair like a classic braid, hair is divided in half from crown to nape. Small sections from the outside of each half are crossed over each other and held on the inside of the opposite section to create the "fishtail." Starting can be difficult, but there are DIY tutorials all over YouTube!

If you're not feeling up to hours in front of the mirror, head to one of the few "braid bars" popping up in salons around you. Nine Zero One in LA has a fab offering of braids to fit any occasion or style.

So what are you waiting for? Start braiding and show us your creation by posting pictures in a comment or on our Facebook page!

Sassy Sandals & Haute Heels

If Charles, Jeffrey, and Sam are household names as well as indulgent splurges then you've found a fine friend in Pump Shoes Chicago, who will be joining us at Venue One in only 15 days! While our Chicago City Chicks will see some amazing product at unbelievable prices, Pump's easy to navigate web-site makes this a glorious shoe fix for fashionistas from coast to coast.

Their collection of designer shoes is so impressive some might even deem it drool-worthy, which made deciding on a favorite find from the site quite difficult. After heated debate, inner reflection, and many silent prayers to win the lottery and just buy every contender, Matiko's Yachi took the prize.

This nude, woven sandal is a lovely shoe for any occasion. The slight platform, which makes an 8 hour day in heels more bearable, is your excuse to purchase the pumps for work. The elongating effect of skin-toned shoes is universally flattering, for days in need of a fierce pick-me-up. Better yet, they come in multiple colors. Rachel Zoe's pick? See for yourself here.

We know your fabulous closets have tons of pieces just waiting to be worn with these strappy sandals, so stay on the lookout for outfit suggestions from yours truly.
